Ayaan Hirsi Ali is the former Dutch politician who made her own way from Somalia, escaping outrageous circumstances as well as her arranged marriage to a cousin and is the author of Infidel, a book I've just finished and strongly recommend to others as worthwhile reading to better understand some of the pitfalls in the Muslim religion. She is also the co-creator of the film short Submission Part 1 that caused so much controversy and resulted in the murder of Dutch director Theo van Gogh.
